Choosing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as a Career
Whether you're new to the workforce, a recent grad, or just transitioning from other fields, choosing the career path of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at BASS ABA is a great opportunity to make an impact and grow professionally.
What is an RBT?
As a Registered Behavior Technician at BASS ABA, you will play a vital role in implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support children with autism and their families. You will provide direct
one-on-one therapy sessions, collect data on client progress and implement effective treatment strategies.
What do RBTs do?
- Complete 40-hour RBT training course (paid) and successfully pass the BACB RBT exam (if not already certified) within 30 days of employment.
- Complete CPR training (paid) within 30 days of hire.
- Work 1:1 with BASS clients receiving ABA therapy.
- Electronic data collection as it relates to programming developed by the BCBA.
- Complete daily notes following the conclusion of each session.
- Maintain open lines of communication with supervising BCBAs regarding progress of the client.

What is a BCBA?
As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, you are a highly trained and skilled professional specializing in behavior analysis. You possess expertise in assessing, designing, and implementing behavior intervention plans to improve the lives of individuals with special needs. BCBA certification is granted by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to professionals who meet rigorous education, supervision, and examination requirements.
What do BCBAs do?
- Directly implement ABA programming to children between the ages of 18 months – 12 years of age
- Conduct assessments specific to the needs of clients
- Develop ABA programming to client’s needs
- Practice excellent time management of service deliverable
- Supervise a team of Registered Behavior Technicians
- Provide training to caregivers
