Alexandria Wheelus Center Director: Tampa Palms
Alexandria attended the University of South Florida, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After graduating, she completed the BCaBA course sequence at the University of South Florida and obtained her BCaBA certification. She practiced as a BCaBA while attending St. Cloud State University, where she earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2019. Alexandria’s interest in working with autistic individuals sparked when her young cousin was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Because of his admirable growth attributed to therapies and family support, she knew she wanted to pursue a career that helps other children achieve their greatest potential. Since beginning in the field of ABA in 2015, Alexandria has worked in a variety of settings, including clinic, home, school, and community, with children of all abilities. Alexandria is particularly interested in family support, functional communication training, and mentoring others pursuing the field. She is a fierce advocate of educating herself and others on how to compassionately support autistic individuals by embracing and respecting their differences, highlighting their strengths, and encouraging them to be their true selves. In her spare time, Alexandria enjoys traveling, exploring new coffee shops, caring for her abundance of plants and animals, and spending time with her family.
